They break down the expected change in key elements such as activities, results, outputs, outcomes and final goals and their causal links, including the underlying assumptions along the logic. They help understand why and how the change is expected to happen.

ToC are a relatively simple but powerful tool to use. 

Having facilitated more than 100 ToC in many different contexts, similar gains are observed every time: teams better understand what they are collectively doing, different units in the same organisation and partners can better spot synergies, funders clearly understand the logic and trust the program, it is easier to communicate to larger audiences, monitoring and evaluation has a strong pillar in ToCs, new employees accelerate their onboarding process and more.

Facilitation of Theories of Change

You can have your ToC this week (*).

If you want to make your program’s logic more clear, to share it internally or externally, we can:

  • Have an initial short meeting to understand your purpose
  • Have a 1h30 conversation with your team where I will create the diagram before your eyes, based on your inputs
  • Review the diagram some days later to have a finalized version.

All based on where you are (online). Your team and even your partners are welcome to enrich the process.
